Mountains, Water & Action Included – the family-friendly region of Oetz invites you to enjoy unforgettable holiday experiences together with the whole family through WIDIs sheep-tastic summer program. A varied mix of nature, adventure, activity and relaxation ensures that both young and old explorers feel right at home. From Monday to Friday, children aged four to ten are professionally supervised and experience nature with all their senses.
Whether brave forest adventurers, little climbing heroes or curious animal lovers: WIDIs children’s program offers highlights such as a visit to a beekeeper, time spent with Icelandic horses, and an authentic survival day in the forest. And best of all: Participation is free of charge for children staying at WIDI partner accommodations!

Ready to aim high? During the trial climbing session, you’ll test your courage and agility—just like the little spider Spinnfried, who bravely ventured out into the big wide world with his colorful socks!
After climbing, we’ll create a “web of courage and friendship,” make friendship bracelets, and play fun outdoor games. A day full of adventure, laughter, and reaching new heights!
Bad weather alternative: We’ll bring Spinnfried’s adventures to life as a mini theater play and craft matching spider figures and colorful yarn webs.
Today we’ll visit the beekeepers Helmut & Agnes in Habichen. Equipped with real beekeeper jackets, we’ll take a look inside a beehive and learn fascinating things about the busy bees and their important work. A colorful day full of nature and creativity!
(Please wear long pants and closed shoes!)
Bad weather alternative: We’ll explore the beehive using a child-friendly model and get creative: we’ll make herbal soaps, beeswax pralines, and creamcheese.
In the morning, two friendly Icelandic horses will be waiting for us in Ochsengarten! We’ll take turns riding through the beautiful mountain landscape and enjoy fun games in nature. In the afternoon, we’ll glide up the mountain with the Ochsengarten cable car to the WIDIVERSUM. Once we arrive, we’ll treat you to a delicious ice cream - and the fun and games can continue! Tired but happy, the Acherkogel cable car will bring us back to the Sommernest in Oetz.
Bad weather alternative: Today it’s time for hammering and threading! The children will create their own personalized name artwork using wood, nails, and colorful thread—a real little masterpiece in the making.
Together with WIDI, we’ll sneak through the forest like real nature heroes, overcome obstacles, and use a compass and our sense of adventure to find the right path.
Along the way, we’ll learn exciting survival tricks: lighting a fire with a flint, building a giant marble run from natural materials, and much more. A day full of teamwork, discoveries, and wild adventures!
Takes place in all weather conditions. Please bring a rain jacket and waterproof shoes.
We’ll take the bus on a journey back in time to the old Ötztal! At the local heritage museum, we’ll discover how people used to live in the past. During a fun puzzle rally across the grounds, sharp thinking and a good sense of curiosity will be needed.
To finish the day creatively, we’ll make colorful pinwheels before heading back to Oetz with lots of new impressions and stories to share.

Our children’s program invites the whole family to exciting adventures—perfect for explorers aged 3 to 10! Children from 4 years old can, if they wish, attend without their parents and experience unforgettable adventures together with WIDI and his friends.
On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, we meet between 9:00 and 10:00 at the Sommernest by the adventure swimming pool in Oetz. On Wednesday, please arrive by 9:30 at the latest, as the regional bus will take us to Ochsengarten.
Good shoes, weatherproof clothing, sun protection. We mainly spend the whole day outdoors! It is therefore important to pack enough food and drink for the children!
A trained team of child carers looks forward to welcoming our guests' children. Our child carers speak German and English.
There are hikes or walks every day. The children should wear good shoes and be able to walk 2-3 kilometres!
Programme changes are of course possible due to the weather! Bring your rainwear and we'll still have lots of fun!
All children who have taken part in the programme on 3 or more days will receive a sheep-strong WIDI gift!
